Established in 1999, New Covenant Academy (NCA) is a Christian college prep school in Los Angeles, California. NCA is accredited by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges), and it is also an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School offering the Diploma Program. NCA is small by design: 16 full-time teachers and 5 administrators serve 133 students in Grades 1 through 12. Find out more about NCA by checking out the links on this site or call (213) 487-5437 for more info.
NCA is changing its traditional crest/shield logo. Designed by our Art Teacher, Mr. Tony Hong, the shield contains the cross which represents NCA’s commitment to Christian education, and the wheat stalk across the shield represents NCA’s goal to “educate, enable, and equip” the Christian leaders of tomorrow. The top seedling represents the students as the school uplifts them to stand firm in Christ.
Congratulations to our Boys Basketball team! They have been selected as the 2012 CIF Southern Section Team Academic Champion! The team will be honored before the Angels baseball game on May 1st. Although the Huskies lost in the first-round of playoffs, the boys played hard through the season. Despite various injuries to key players, the boys posted a 10-9 record. Great job, Huskies!
NCA is a non-denominational, independent Christian school. While NCA is open to accepting students from various religious backgrounds, all instructors are Christians committed to providing a solid Christian school experience to the students. Each week, three separate chapels are offered to elementary, middle, and high school students. Students are instructed and expected to live by biblical values and principles. Uncompromising Christian education, unparalleled community, unmatched value. That’s NCA.
Student achievement results at NCA are very high. The Stanford Test results for students in Grades 1-9 are above 85-percentile in Total Reading and Total Math. Current 11th graders average 184 on the PSAT–that’s approximately 40 points higher than the national average. Nine out of 15 seniors from the Class of 2011 gained entrance to UCLA and UC Berkeley–this class averaged 1940 on the SAT Reasoning Test. Simply put, NCA offers rigorous education to all of it students, from Grade 1 through 12.
NCA is an affordable Christian school. By comparison, NCA’s tuition is less than 1/2 or 1/3 of comparable schools in the area while its academic results are significantly higher. Also, NCA provides scholarships and financial aid to qualified students and families. Located in the heart of Koreatown, near Vermont and Wilshire, NCA is a clean and safe campus for its students. NCA’s teachers are caring and qualified instructors committed to the well-being of all of its students.
